Lights, camera, action! This summer, Harewood takes centre stage with Curtains Up! Outdoor Play, a vibrant theatrical play area on Sun Sides where imaginations can run wild. Young visitors can take to the stage, dress up, try circus skills and enjoy a range of performance-themed games and activities, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Lake. From the moment you arrive, the Grounds are transformed into a world of theatrical wonder, laughter and discovery.

Inside the House, discover Snaps Through Time, a fascinating talk exploring the history of photography and how treasured images are cared for and preserved for future generations. Visitors can also enjoy the playful Spot Simba the Pug trail, inspired by Cecil Beaton’s beloved companion, as they explore the State Floor and uncover hidden surprises throughout the historic rooms.

Beyond the House, adventure awaits across the Grounds. Families can climb, swing and zip through the Adventure Playscape, explore Sylvascope and the Woodland Wonderland Willow Maze, get hands-on with Little Gardeners in the Walled Garden, or join Thomas’ Terrace School to learn how Harewood cares for its historic stonework. Throughout the summer, visitors can also enjoy special events including the Family Den-Off, Adventure Babies: Circus Special, Tree Toddlers Summer Special, and the ever-popular Harewood Holiday Club, ensuring there’s something for every age to discover.
