By opening the CAM scheme, this will give our service users opportunities and experiences that would not have been thought possible in the past, and a positive outlook not only for 2025, but the future in general. I sincerely look forward to working alongside Harewood in future endeavours"

Community Engagement Partners
The Old Fire Station, Gipton
The Old Fire Station (OFS) is a thriving, welcoming centre, working in one of the most deprived areas in Leeds, where all are made to feel valued and safe whilst providing the opportunity to learn, develop and engage in positive activities. The Old Fire Station was one of our first charity partners, when we redeveloped our community engagement offer, and have since organised trips for 250 children and families from low-income or challenging backgrounds to Harewood, taking part in creative activities that connect with our world-class exhibitions, having fun in our new Adventure Playscape and sharing in the magic of Christmas at Harewood.

Cody, The Old Fire Station Member continues“Our recent visit was to the Christmas one, the house was amazingly decorated and very nice to see. Seeing Santa for Parker was mind blowing he was so excited to see Santa and get a special present from him which was a very nice magical surprise for him.”
Laura Cloudsdale, Events Coordinator, The Old Fire Station says “By providing free events, activities and food we will help provide enriching experiences that build confidence, build family bonds, increase mental wellbeing, and expand the experiences of the children beyond the basic school curriculum so that they gain the chance to try new things.
We believe that every family needs opportunities to make core memories whilst the children are young, and not just merely get by….
We would not have been able to facilitate the visits if it hadn’t been for the support of Harewood. We hope to continue the partnership to enrich the lives of our deprived community.”
Accessibility
We have a vision to transform the sector and re-imagine what makes a historic country house and its landscape relevant, inclusive and accessible in the 21st century. We actively collaborate with, and celebrate, a diverse range of individuals and communities to continue breaking down barriers and make Harewood as inclusive as possible for all audiences.
In 2025, we introduced further accessibility provisions across State Floor such as colour-correcting EnChroma glasses, tactile interpretations of artworks, audio descriptions, and sensory kits for neurodiverse visitors. By donating to Harewood House Trust, you can help us to expand our accessibility offers, so that everyone can experience and enjoy our collections, grounds and gardens, regardless of additional needs or disability.

Two little boys yesterday used the EnChroma glasses... one told me it was the best day of his life... The parents were so touched that they had the opportunity to see everything."

£2 ticket
Our £2 ticket offer is designed to widen access to Harewood House for those in receipt of income support or refugee status, who would otherwise be unable to visit. Since launching the scheme in 2024, we have welcomed over 2,500 visitors through the £2 scheme and we hope to welcome thousands more in the coming year.
Every full-price ticket, membership, donation, corporate partner and Patron helps to subsidise these £2 tickets, meaning that we can continue to offer accessible entry for people otherwise unable to visit – so that everyone, regardless of their economic or refugee status – is able to enjoy and appreciate all that Harewood has to offer.
Wildlife
Harewood’s green spaces include forests, woodlands, wetlands, parkland and Himalayan gardens which are home to a rich diversity of wildlife from our beloved Red Kites to gorgeous Roe Deer. Caring for our landscape isn’t just about offering stunning contemporary Gardens for visitors to enjoy; it’s also about boosting biodiversity across a huge range of environments. By planting species that provide excellent habitats, we’re creating a flourishing landscape for birds, insects, and other wildlife.
It’s our mission to protect and enhance Harewood House for our visitors, plants, animals, and trees alike. Donating to Harewood House Trust can help us support this vision, maintaining thriving green spaces and creating a haven where life can thrive.
Donate Today, Protect Tomorrow
