What’s on at Harewood 40

2026 is also milestone year for Leeds. 400 years since the city was granted its first Charter of Incorporation by King Charles I in 1626.

Leeds 400 is a year-long celebration of the people, places, stories and ideas that have shaped the city over four centuries, while also looking ahead to the future. Through events, culture, heritage and community activity, Leeds 400 invites everyone to reflect on the city’s past and celebrate what makes Leeds such a vibrant and distinctive place today.

As part of Harewood 40, our celebration of 40 years of Harewood House Trust, we are proud to be connecting with this city-wide moment. Harewood has long been part of the wider story of Leeds and Yorkshire, and our anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate the people, partnerships and communities that have helped shape Harewood over the past four decades, while looking ahead to the next chapter of our shared story.
