Looking for one of the best family days out in Yorkshire this summer? Whether you're visiting with little ones, enjoying a day out with grandparents, or simply looking to explore one of Yorkshire's most beautiful historic houses, Harewood has everything you need for an unforgettable day. From magnificent historic interiors and beautiful gardens to outdoor adventures, seasonal events and relaxing lake cruises, there is plenty to discover during a summer visit to Harewood. Here is our guide to planning the perfect summer day at Harewood.

10am – Begin with outdoor adventure

Arrive when Harewood opens at 10am to make the most of the day ahead.

Head straight to Curtains Up! Outdoor Play (daily, 18 July–6 September), where imaginations take centre stage. Children can dress up, try circus skills, perform on stage, get creative and enjoy a host of theatrical games and activities, all set against the stunning backdrop of Harewood’s lake and gardens.

It’s the perfect way to start your visit and let little ones burn off some energy before exploring the rest of the Grounds and Gardens.
