Leroy Johnson is a Yorkshire-born singer, songwriter, and music educator based in Leeds, renowned for his powerful contributions to gospel music and dedication to nurturing the next generation of musicians.
With a career spanning over 30 years, Leroy has collaborated with prominent artists including Gloria Gaynor, All Saints, and Five, and released his debut solo album Let the Son Shine in 2014.
Leroy is the founder and director of IAM Music Academy, a Leeds-based initiative that provides high-quality music education and performance opportunities for aspiring musicians. He also teaches at Music House Leeds and John Smeaton Academy, sharing his expertise as a vocal coach and mentor to students of all ages and skill levels.
Deeply rooted in his local community, Leroy leads the Gospel Community Choir in Leeds, using music as a vehicle to uplift and connect people.
