Early Learning Goals: The Natural World, Creating with Materials National Curriculum Key Stage 1: Science
Get hands-on with nature in a practical outdoor session set in Harewood’s beautiful woodlands, Grounds, and Gardens.
Your pupils will learn to identify both native and non-native trees, exploring their features while using key scientific skills to measure and make predictions.
For younger pupils, we’ll also dive into the world of British folklore with the story of the Green Man. Using natural materials, they’ll create their own Green Man to help protect Harewood’s woodlands.
It’s an engaging session that blends science and storytelling in the heart of nature!
All children engaged so well with the workshop. The class has a range of SEN and all children were able to access the activities. Staff were fabulous with the children and so welcoming.”
