National Curriculum Key Stage 2: History
Immerse your pupils in the history of Harewood House during the World Wars.
They’ll discover how the Estate supported the war effort through food production*, explore wartime medicine, and get a glimpse into the life of an officer recovering in a convalescent hospital.
Each session is led by staff in authentic wartime costume, bringing history lesson to life. The day can be tailored to focus on either the First or Second World War, depending on your class’s area of study.
*This is a hands-on cooking activity so please let us know of any allergies or dietary requirements when completing the booking form or contact the team on learn@harewood.org
The visit helped bring to life what has only ever been discussed, or seen on video in the classroom.”
