Your pupils will be offered a fascinating insight into Harewood’s history as we explore how it was transformed into a Royal Household after Princess Mary married the 6th Earl of Harewood. We will investigate how the House reflects its former royal status and which other royals, both British and foreign, have visited Harewood. We will bring this learning up to the current day by exploring the Lascelles family’s relationship with the royal family today and by making a coronation badge to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III.
Each session is led by an experienced learning facilitator who will provide an immersive tour of both the State Floor and Below Stairs and lead a handling collection exploration so pupils can learn from Harewood’s archive.
If you are interested in learning more about Word Wars we are able to lead sessions around Princess Mary’s World War contribution as part of our Harewood at War! session. Please contact our Learning Team if this is something that you would like to discuss.
Timings + Prices
Timings for all sessions are flexible and can be tailored to suit KS1 and KS2 pupils.
The session runs as two parallel activities by dividing your group in half, switching over activities at approximately 11.00am. Both sessions are guided by a Learning Facilitator giving your pupils all that they need whilst enabling them to explore for themselves. .
Price
