Craftsmanship and beautiful objects are all around us and are a huge part of Harewood’s history.
These craft-focused sessions are all about giving children and young people a taste for making and the satisfaction of making something well, with skill and imagination.
Working with professional artist Megan Dobbyn, pupils will investigate the Harewood collection, exploring surface pattern through textiles, furniture, craft and nature.
By sketching, looking and group conversation pupils will gather and share different ideas and develop them using printmaking. Pupils will create a surface pattern onto fabric or paper, based on a theme or message in response to what they have seen.
This is a hands-on practical session which aims to stimulate creativity and has a focus on Art & Design, matched to the National Curriculum. It is designed to be inspire students, encouraging them to learn new skills and enjoy a process of making which can be developed back in school.
All materials are included but feel free to bring your own sketchbook.
Timings for all sessions are flexible and can be tailored to suit KS1, lower primary or upper primary aged pupils.
£10 per pupil
