The Barbadian Revolt
In the decades that followed the abolition of the British trans-Atlantic slave trade in 1807, many enslaved Barbadians felt disappointment and frustration at the delay of emancipation. On Easter Sunday, 14 April 1816, they decided to take matters into their own hands.
