Harewood Annual Membership

In order to enable us to keep our membership as competitively priced and as environmentally friendly as possible we no longer offer the postage of membership cards out to your home address.

When collecting your membership, please give your booking reference to the admissions team on the gates who will ensure you are able to get in quickly. Then please head to visitor information, located in the Courtyard to collect your pass.

You don’t need to do this on your first visit if this isn’t convenient for you, but we invite you to do this as soon as you are able. 

When you purchase an auto-renewing Membership online, we’ll be able to take another payment each year, saving you the trouble of contacting us again. If you select a monthly payment option, we’ll be able to take payments each month.

We’ll send you a reminder about your Membership renewal a few weeks before the year is up, whether you’re on the annual or monthly payment plan. You can opt out of auto-renew at any time by contacting us, though your Membership will remain valid until the end of the year (and any remaining monthly payments will still be taken).

No, you can join as a Member for just one year by contacting our team at membership@harewood.org. However, with auto-renew you get a better price (especially if you choose the annual option), and free family guest passes when you renew each year. And we’re sure that with our ever-changing programme, you’ll want to keep coming back!

Yes, definitely! If you sign up within 7 days of your visit, we’ll take the price of your day ticket off the Membership fee. Just pop in to Visitor Information in the Courtyard and we’ll set it all up for you. Alternatively, buy a Membership online then send the details of your original tickets to membership@harewood.org, and we’ll refund the difference.

Not usually, no. Your Membership is only for the people named on your Membership card, and is non-transferrable to friends or family. However, one of your perks is Member Tuesday, when you can bring one family guest for free per Membership every Tuesday. We will also give you 2 free family guest passes when you renew, so you can bring others to enjoy Harewood with you.

When you renew each year, we’ll send you free family guest passes as a thank you for your loyalty. Individual and Joint Members will get 2 x 2-person passes, and Family Members will get 2 x family passes (2 adults and 2 children).

The passes will need to be handed in when your guests visit. We aren’t able to replace passes if they’re lost.

Guest passes can’t be used on select event days such as the Great British Food Festival and VW Festival.

Yes, you need to present your card on entry, which will be checked by our staff. We may also ask to see photo ID.

Please note that in 2025 we are moving to a new Membership system, and your next card will have a barcode that will be scanned on arrival.

You can cancel your Membership auto-renew in advance of your annual renewal date by emailing membership@harewood.org. Your Membership will remain valid until that date (and any remaining monthly payments will still be taken).

We only offer refunds for auto-renew Memberships, when a refund is requested within one calendar month of the payment date and if the card has not been used.

If we haven’t successfully received an annual or monthly Membership payment when you visit and present a Membership card, we will ask you to pay for day tickets.

All our Memberships are for one year, including when you choose a monthly payment plan. If you choose a monthly plan, you are committing to 12 payments.

If we haven’t successfully received a monthly Membership payment when you visit and present a Membership card, we will ask you to pay for day tickets.

We reserve the right to refuse future Membership purchases if you fail to pay all 12 months in a year.

1. Harewood House and Grounds are open to the public on a seasonal basis. The dates vary each year and can be found on our website, Visitor Information leaflets or from staff members. Access outside of these dates is not permitted.
2. Harewood Memberships are non-transferable. Membership cards may only be used by the Members named on the card.
3. Membership allows free admission to the public areas of the Park and House for the named Members only during our advertised opening hours.
4. Children three years of age and under at the time of joining the Harewood Membership scheme are admitted free of charge to Harewood. At the time of annual Membership renewal, if your child has reached four years of age they become eligible for paid entry and your Membership will automatically be upgraded to reflect this. It is your responsibility to inform the Visitor Experience Membership Team prior to renewal if you do not wish this to happen. This age review happens at 12 months, whether you are on an annual or monthly payment plan.
5. All Harewood Members must report to Visitor Reception upon arrival at Harewood for your visit to be recorded.
6. Harewood Members must be in possession of their Membership card in order to be admitted free of charge. If you have lost or misplaced your card, please contact the Visitor Experience Membership Team on 0113 218 1001. A replacement card will incur a small charge.
7. Only one Membership card is valid per Membership. It is the Members’ responsibility to ensure all Members wishing to visit are present at point of entry.
8. Membership discounts in our gift shop or catering outlets, where applicable, will only be granted upon presentation of a valid Membership card in your name.
9. Members who require essential assistance in their everyday life may include a Carer on their Membership free of charge. Proof of essential care needs is required. Please ask for further information.
10. From time to time you may be asked to provide proof of your identity on entry as part of our Visitor Management Procedures. Failure to provide such proof may result in refusal of entry.
11. With the exception of entitlement to free entry to Harewood during open season as stated in term 3, we reserve the right to change Membership benefits, including the parts of Harewood open for public access, without prior notice for any reason.

1. When you sign up for Harewood Membership on an auto-renew option (annual or monthly), you are agreeing to Continuous Payment Authority that allows us to take a regular payment using securely stored card details.
2. If you choose the monthly payment option, you are committing to 12 payments, totalling a year of Membership.
3. Approximately one month prior to the annual expiry date of your Membership we will contact you to advise that it is time to renew.
4. If you are an auto-renew Member on the annual payment option, unless we hear otherwise from you, your renewal payment will become due 10 days prior to the expiry date of your current Membership. This is to ensure that new cards are received promptly upon renewal.
5. If you are an auto-renew Member on the monthly payment option, we will remind you about your Membership around month 11. Unless we hear otherwise from you, your Membership will renew with monthly payments for 12 months.
6. If a Member paying by monthly or annual auto-renew payments falls behind with payment, we reserve the right to refuse entry, revoke Membership and seek the outstanding balance.

1. As an environmentally conscientious organisation, where possible we contact Members via email at the address given on the Membership application form. Please check this frequently to ensure that you receive up to date information regarding your Membership and other Harewood News.
2. If your contact details, address, eligibility to claim Gift Aid or auto-renew card details change during your time as a Harewood Member, it is your responsibility to let us know by contacting the Visitor Experience Membership Team on membership@harewood.org to update your Membership record. You can also update some details on your online account.
3. Harewood House Trust does not accept responsibility for any correspondence missed as a result of you not advising us of any changes.

1. You may cancel your Membership at any time prior to the annual expiry date by writing to Harewood House Membership Team, Harewood House, Leeds, LS17 9LG or membership@harewood.orgPlease quote your Membership number, name and postcode in any correspondence.Memberships cancelled before point of renewal will remain valid until the original annual expiry date, at which point they will not be renewed. This includes Memberships on the monthly payment plan.
2. Refunds are not applicable other than in the following circumstance:When cancellation of an auto-renew Membership is requested within 1 calendar month of the renewal payment date. In this instance a refund will be made only where the card is not subject to Gift Aid, has not been used since the date of renewal and will be subject to a cancellation fee of £10.

1. Whilst we will make it clear when your Membership grants free entry to ticketed events, being a Member does not entitle you to free entry at all ticketed events, nor does it guarantee the availability of tickets to such events.
2. As a Harewood Member you may, from time to time, be offered complimentary admission to events held within Harewood Grounds that are organised by a third party. In these circumstances admission will only be granted if you are in possession of a valid Membership card in your name.
3. On event days, alternative entry points may be in operation. Please follow the directions of staff.

Membership offers and discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions.

We reserve the right to refuse entry and/or Membership and/or to revoke Membership without refund if a Member behaves in a threatening or abusive manner towards any person at Harewood, or damages or threatens to damage any of the collections or property cared for by Harewood, or acts in a manner which could bring Harewood into disrepute.

1. We reserve the right to revoke a Membership without financial compensation if any of these terms are breached.
2. We reserve the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time.
3. These Terms and Conditions replace any prior Terms and Conditions issued by Harewood.
