Get closer to our work and be part of our vision to Re-Imagine Harewood.

Become part of a group of like-minded people and join us on a journey to ensure that Harewood House, its collections, parkland and gardens continue to enrich lives now and for generations to come.

It is our mission to protect and enhance this amazing place for the benefit of everyone and we have embarked upon a mission to reimagine Harewood by 2033. This is a far-reaching project that will enhance our historic buildings, gardens, woodlands and parkland; provide a warm welcome to all our visitors and ensure that we remain relevant and are accessible to all.

Be part of our story

We can only achieve our ambitions with your help. By becoming a Patron of Harewood you will not only be playing your part in our future development but you will enjoy a range of exclusive benefits including behind-the-scenes access to the House, park and gardens and the experts who care for them and a specially curated and exclusive series of intimate events and magical moments throughout the year.

Why your support makes a difference

Each year the charity needs to generate more than of £3.5 million from earned income, grants and donations to protect and develop the House and landscape and to continue to offer our pioneering exhibitions and innovative learning and community programmes which reach thousands of people each year.

Our exciting plans make your support even more important.

A place for nature: We are not just providing new, contemporary gardens to the south of the House but increasing the biodiversity value of our landscape through planting of species that create excellent habitat for birds, insects and other wildlife living here at Harewood.  All of our plans aim to take advantage of new technologies to reduce our carbon footprint. We also have ambitions to maximise the potential of the Walled Garden and to pass on vital skills to grow the next generation of gardeners and naturalists.

A place for playfulness: Harewood is the kind of place where memories are made, where people come together to socialise and have fun. A place full of adventure and exploration, for recharging your batteries and escaping for a while. Our bespoke outdoor adventure play area will introduce inclusive and natural play spaces that encourage a connection with nature and a spirit of adventure for kids aged 3 to 80!

A place for a warm welcome: Our fabulous team have been welcoming visitors, via our ticket gates, for decades but now we want to create an opportunity to meet and create conversation with visitors, all year round. So, we are transforming our Bakehouse into a place for people to meet, eat, drink and be introduced to all that Harewood has to offer.  This will allow us to give visitors the warmest welcome and make maximise the potential of this stunning Grade II listed building, as well as confronting Harewood’s complex history and our ongoing commitment to deal with the legacy of the Transatlantic trade of enslaved people in Britain today.
