We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our newly transformed website, made possible thanks to the incredible support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund and National Lottery players.
This is a major step in our commitment to making Harewood’s history more accessible, ensuring that its stories, both beautiful and challenging, are told with honesty and depth. Everyone who visits and supports Harewood will be able to explore our vibrant, intriguing and unique offer better than ever before.
For many years, Harewood House Trust has worked to make Harewood a platform for change. We continue to explore the long-term ramifications of slavery, opening up conversations through exhibitions, public events, and learning programmes that engage with our past and its impact today.
Engaging with the past for a fairer future
For many years, the Lascelles family and Harewood House Trust have sought to make Harewood a platform for change, through exhibitions and public events that open up conversations and bring communities together.

History
Our new website extends this mission by providing an in-depth timeline, digital tours, and resources, ensuring Harewood’s legacy is openly shared with everyone. We want to make sure that Harewood feels welcoming and relevant to our Black communities in Leeds and beyond.
Visitors can now explore Harewood’s past, present and future from anywhere in the world, uncovering the stories of the House, Gardens, and world-renowned Collections. We have also created digital exhibitions, allowing people to continue exploring the work of showcased artists, makers, and creators long after the physical exhibitions have ended.
These exhibitions reflect the Trust’s vision to commission and collaborate with exceptional artists who engage with Harewood’s history in a contemporary way, provoking different perspectives and conversations. This ensures that Harewood’s contemporary programme remains accessible to all, no matter where they are.

As an educational charity, it is our responsibility to raise awareness of Harewood’s past and the impact of that history today. Our new Study Spot, as well as our on-site sessions, give teachers the tools to engage young people with these narratives.
But none of this would be possible without the income generated by ticket sales, donations, and venue hire. Harewood House Trust needs to raise around £3.5 million every year to keep Harewood open for everyone to enjoy.
With this in mind, our newly transformed website has been designed to make it easier than ever for visitors to find the information they need. Whether you’re looking to explore upcoming events and exhibitions, book tickets, or learn more about private hire and weddings, everything is now more accessible and user-friendly.
Be part of Harewood's story
Whether you're attending an event, hosting a meeting, or volunteering your time, we are incredibly grateful to all our visitors and members for their support.
