Harewood has plenty to offer college and university groups, academics and researchers, ESOL and student groups visiting from abroad.
We offer an extensive tours programme for Key Stage 5+, led by experienced and specialist guides and staff. If you can’t find the tour that you need or have a particular request, do get in touch.
Harewood provides a rich context for high level study across both the sciences and humanities. An accredited museum with a ‘lived’ social history, world-class architecture, art and furniture collection. The Bird Garden and plant collection play an important role in conservation and public understanding of the natural sciences.
Colleges and universities can engage with Harewood through:
Visit Harewood as part of student induction and orientation at the start of the academic year. We can provide free introductory talks as part of your visit. Or contact us to discuss how we can contribute to modules of study to provide a real-life setting for learning and enquiry.
We offer discounted admissions for all educational groups of 10 or more.
Self-guided visits: £6.50 per student admission
Tours and Talks (approx. 1 hour)*: £8.50 per student (includes admission)
Additional tours/talks: £2 per student
*Bespoke tours may incur an additional development charge to be discussed at booking stage
Accompanying staff are free of charge based on a 1:10 adult to student ratio.
Additional adults are charged at the discounted rate of £8.00 per adult.
For tours and talks, groups are limited to 15 students per group. However, more than one tour at a time can take place to accommodate larger groups.
For self-guided visits there are no maximum numbers.
Harewood is open from the end of March until the start of November for educational visits. A special Christmas season also opens from late November.
Lunches: Students are welcome to access a choice of onsite cafés and home-brought food can be enjoyed in the picnic areas or outdoor seating widely available.

Pre-visits: Complimentary tickets are available to tutors when a booking is confirmed, enabling assess to the site to undertake planning and a risk assessment.
