We are looking for casual Visitor Experience Team Members to join our Visitor Experience Team to work with our busy annual programme in Harewood House, as well as many outdoor events and actvities.

Harewood House is an exciting place to work with a busy annual programme in the House as well as many outdoor events and activities. We are looking for friendly and flexible people who are looking for a varied role with an understanding this role will require you to be outdoors in all weathers.
You will be asked to perform a variety of roles from welcoming guests to our 18th Century House and at our Visitor Reception, managing overflow car parking, supporting the safe running of the ferry and shuttle and helping out on event days. (concerts, car shows etc). You will be passionate about giving a fantastic first and last impression and get to know Harewood so that you can answer visitor questions and ensure a first-class visitor experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome all visitors, staff, volunteers and contractors and interact with them in a positive, friendly and approachable manner.
- Control traffic down the main drive and actively assist visitors into main / overflow car parking spaces
- Answer general enquiries face to face in a professional manner
- Be able to turn a complaint into a positive, going out of your way to rectify any problems or issues.
- Support the safe operation of the ferry and shuttle service; being vigilant for pedestrians and excitable children.
- Work as a team during event days/evenings to marshal large numbers of people, manage overflow car parking, and answer visitor queries
- Process Member visits and sell admission tickets
- Engage with visitors, encourage people to explore other parts of the site and sign up for membership
- Proactively introduce Gift Aid and Membership and maximise up-selling opportunities with retail and catering services and products
- Provide a warm and friendly welcome to visitors in our 18th century house
- Engage with visitors about Harewood’s histories, collections and exhibitions
- Perform daily maintenance checks and ensure the Ferry is presentable to the public
- Upholding the standards of visitor experience as set out in the Harewood House Trust staff handbook, training and induction material
- A commitment to equal opportunities and health and safety
- Actively contribute to the successful achievement of departmental and charity-wide goals
- Adhere to all Harewood House Trust policies and procedures
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonable be required by the Manager or Supervisor on duty.
- Support in the Visitor Information Office by answering guest questions, both on the day face to face as well as on the phone and over email.
- Support Members with queries and questions as well as proactively selling and promotion of Membership to guests.
- Support in the administration and sale of other elements that Harewood has to offer, including afternoon teas, trails and other areas.
