We love involving volunteers in the work we do and we want to give opportunities to as wide a range of people as possible. Volunteers bring a wealth of experience and get involved for many different reasons; including a love of heritage and gardens, to gain employability skills, and for social contact. We welcome everyone and hope to be able to support volunteers in their aims as much as they support us in ours.
We currently involve over 200 volunteers in diverse roles across the charity, from meeting and greeting our visitors, preparing food for our Birds, weeding in our Gardens, driving our shuttle bus or running our second hand bookshop. You can see details of all our roles on the link below.

+ Seasonal Event Volunteers
For seven weeks between 13 November 2021 and 3 January 2022 we are looking for event volunteers to help us facilitate Upon a Christmas Wish, this year’s imaginative Christmas story, created by Leeds design duo Lord Whitney.
Based inside Harewood House, your role will be to help with visitor flow and to make sure visitors experience a Christmas like no other.
No previous experience of heritage or volunteering is required; just an enthusiasm to engage and ignite the imaginations of our visitors.
Morning and afternoon shifts are available every day, but we would especially welcome help with our Harewood late evening openings on a Friday and Saturday.
