Raised in Leeds in a musical family and church community, Chèrie’s passion for singing began at an early age. At just nine years old, she appeared in the celebrated Carnival Messiah production at the West Yorkshire Playhouse and later at Harewood House, where she held a lead singing role.
By 13, she was already leading her local church choir, stepping boldly into her gift.
Since then, she has taken on leading roles in productions such as Hairspray (Motormouth Maybelle) and Chieftaincy, sung backing vocals for artists including hip-hop artist Loyal Carner and the Kaiser Chiefs, headlined the London Legacy Awards Show, and won first place on the Gospel radio show The Gospel Experiment. She also studied music production at Leeds Beckett University, further developing her artistry and technical skills. A core member of the Caution Collective and the Music House Gospel Choir, she has also mentored singers and continues to share her love of music by guiding others on their journey.
Chèrie is the founder and CEO of Be.Her, a women’s empowerment movement and creative platform where women connect, collaborate, and find their voice through music and faith. She is also a devoted disciple of Christ and a proud mother of two boys who inspire her daily.
From intimate gatherings to national platforms, including headlining at the House of Parliament, Chèrie’s voice carries warmth, strength, and hope. Returning now to the beautiful grounds of Harewood House, where her journey once blossomed, this event is especially meaningful as she joins gifted vocalists and musicians to bless the grounds in song.
