Experience a unique classical music concert near Leeds, just a short drive from Harrogate and York, as pianist Laura Klein and singer Gillian Dooley bring to life music from Jane Austen’s personal collection.

Jane Austen, known for her literary genius, was also a passionate pianist and singer. Her handwritten music books offer a rare and intimate insight into the melodies she cherished throughout her life. This special concert at Harewood House features live performances of pieces taken directly from Austen’s collection—now partially on display in the exhibition Austen and Turner: A Country House Encounter.

The programme includes elegant arias, charming folk songs, and lively French theatre tunes that filled the drawing rooms of Georgian England. Among the highlights is No Riches from his Scanty Store, a heartfelt song remembered by Austen’s niece and featured in the current exhibition.

Join us for a morning of live classical music in a stunning historic setting, and step into the soundscape of Austen’s world.
