Come and be inspired by Austen and Turner: A Country House Encounter exhibition to write your own poems, short stories and lyrics.

Join Writer in Residence Rommi Smith and pianist and composer Christella Litras in creating new work in response to the work and lives of Jane Austen and JMW Turner.

Did you know the painter JMW Turner wrote poems as part of the process of creating his paintings?

Did you know the novelist Jane Austen loved music and played the piano?

Come and be inspired by the lush landscapes of Turner’s paintings and the green surroundings of Harewood; by the words of Jane Austen and the history and objects of the country house.

Work with musician and composer Christella Litras to fuse your words with music.

Each workshop explores a different theme. Choose one or dive into all three for the full experience!
