Fun for Families in 2023

We’re delighted to announce a whole year of fun for your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews (which we suspect the grown ups will enjoy too)! From drop-in activities to school holiday events to new regular clubs, there’s something new to enjoy every month at Harewood.

Full event details will be announced throughout the year.

FEBRUARY

Who Am I? Portraits and Identity
February half term + Easter holidays

Enjoy art activities that get kids thinking “Who am I? How do I want to be represented?”, alongside our Arthur France exhibition in February and the Reframing Reynolds exhibition at Easter.

Art Club

We’re starting a monthly Art Club, with new themes and inspirations throughout the year!

MARCH

Reframing Reynolds
A brand new exhibition on the State Floor from Fri 17 Mar

Marking 300 years since the birth of Sir Joshua Reynolds, Harewood will showcase its celebrated collection of family portraits by the artist in an exciting new exhibition. A special children’s guide will help kids learn all about this famous painter, inspiring them to think about how grand portraits reflected on the sitter and 18th century society.

APRIL

The Wild Escape
Easter holidays

Learn about Harewood’s beautiful red kites and connect with nature. Meet red kites, explore art trails and make your own kite to fly on our North Lawn.

LEGO Club
Every month

April is the start of our new free LEGO Club – build on a new theme each month!

MAY

The Coronation
May Bank Holidays

Celebrate the coronation of King Charles III with royal activities across Harewood, from a display about the Lascelles family’s presence at previous coronations to fun crafts and games.

Meet the Tashi Lhunpo Monks

For the national Festival of Archaeology, take part in kid-friendly ‘dig’ activities to learn about Gawthorpe Hall, the medieval manor on Harewood’s South Park.

Plus exciting new summer play experiences to be announced soon!
