Every day at Harewood

We’ve got heaps of drop-in daily activities going on throughout summer, including crafts, tours and play.

Colour Maze
South Park | All Day |

Run, explore and don’t get too lost in our new rainbow maze, complete with brilliant views up to the House and down to the Lake. Adult supervision is required.

Very occasionally the Colour Maze may be closed for a private event that brings vital income for Harewood House Trust; see What’s Open to check before your visit.

Arts and Crafts in the Bake House
11am-3pm |

Enjoy Summer themed crafts in our family space. Adult supervision is required, and there may be a small charge for some activities.

Scrap Tent
South Park| 11am-3pm |

Head towards the South Park and enjoy our Family Scrap Tent, packed full of possibility! Use recycled materials to build, explore and play in our brand new creative play space in the beautiful grounds of Harewood. Special themed crafting activities will be running during Medieval Harewood, so find out more and book your spot.

Lakeside Play Trail
All Day |

Unique interactive games are dotted all along the Lakeside Path, encouraging little legs all the way to treats at the Bothy!

Woodland Wonderland
North Park | All Day |

Find our lovely willow maze in the North Park near the Church.

Brand new Children’s Guide to the House
House | 11am-4pm |

Luna the Dachshund is ready to take you on a treasure hunt! Discover amazing fun facts about Harewood’s history with our new guide booklet.

 

Farm and Penguin Daily Activities

Goat + Alpaca Breakfast

Zebedee, Zucchini and friends all like to start the day with tasty fruit and veg! Don’t we all.

Penguin Feed + Talk
11am + 3.30pm |

Learn all about Harewood’s penguins as they enjoy some fish.

Guinea Pig + Rabbit Snack Time

Our new animal arrivals love a snack! Come along to find out more about our guinea pigs and rabbits during their feeding time.

Enrichment Time

Help our animal keepers make some exciting treats and toys to keep our animals busy and happy.

Medieval Harewood
27-30 July

Embark on a long weekend of historical adventure as you discover the medieval history that lies within our Grounds, with archaeology workshops, live demonstrations and fantastic food. Please book in advance for our Have-a-go Archaeology workshop and Un-Archaeology crafting activity.

Summer Forest School
1 hour sessions Tuesdays in August | 11am + 1pm + 3pm |
Full Day sessions every Thursday in August|

Explore the wonders of nature at Harewood’s brand-new Forest School every Tuesday throughout August. Led by an expert Forest School guide, each one-hour session will encourage children to discover the world around them with a different theme each week. Tickets are £8 per child and pre-booking is required.

The team are also running full day Summer Forest School sessions every Thursday in August, for the full outdoor experience. Tickets are £50 per child, and pre-booking is required. Drop off is at 10am, and children should be collected at 3pm. Lunch is not included.

Estate Walking Safari
4 August | 10am-12pm |

Join our Summer walking tour, with your own Estate guide walking and talking you through the heritage of animals farmed at Harewood, ongoing conservation efforts across the landscape, ways that sustainable farming has been implemented and the history of the Estate.

Rolls Royce Enthusiasts’ Club North of England Rally
6 August | 10am-4pm |

A wonderful day out for everyone from kids to grandparents! The Rolls Royce Rally brings together some of the UK’s most prized motor cars and their proud owners, and 2023 marks the 43rd year that the rally has been held at Harewood.

VW Festival
11-13 August

The UK’s largest VW show returns to Harewood House again this summer, with live entertainment, live music and VW’s galore.

Entry is included in Harewood tickets, and Members must pre-book. Please note that this event takes over the whole Harewood site.

Adventure Babies – Summer Special
21 August | 10am-4pm |

Adventure Babies presents a one-off special for summer. Watch your little ones’ eyes light up as they engage in sensory play, music, and interactive storytelling – with 3 different sessions throughout the day for different age groups.

Tickets are £8, and younger siblings and twins are welcome to join and receive a 15% discount off the second ticket.
