Saturday 15 March – Saturday 5 April 2025
11am – 1.30pm
Join Luke Thompson to explore drawing and painting on this four week course for those in the early stages of their artistic journey.
The course will cover still life, portrait, landscape and the fundamentals of drawing and painting from life. You will be given step by step instructions in a wide range of drawing and painting techniques. You will start by exploring basic drawing techniques from reference to still life objects, gradually introducing tone and colour to create a still life painting. Portraiture will focus on proportions of the face in charcoal, and colour theory will be explored within the landscape.
Individual interpretation and reinvention of the subject will be encouraged during the sessions as progression is made. By the end of the course participants will have a better knowledge of drawing and painting techniques and a growing sense of their individual style and strengths in preparation for further development.
The course will run from 11am to 1:30pm on the following dates:
Sat 15 Mar
Sat 22 Mar
Sat 29 Mar
Sat 5 Apr
