David Harewood MBE is a British actor, writer and activist. He is the current President of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
David Harewood’s ancestors were enslaved by the Lascelles family in the early nineteenth century.
Harewood’s portrait is the second in the ‘Missing Portrait’ series. It was taken by the Leeds-based photographer Ashley Karrell in the Main Library at Harewood House in 2023.
