Ever wanted to be a detective... but for bones? Well, now’s your chance!

Join us this Easter at Harewood House for a brilliantly disgusting Owl Pellet Dissection Workshop.

What’s an owl pellet?

It’s the remains of an owl’s dinner – fur, feathers, and BONES!

Owls swallow their prey whole (yep, you read that right), and a few hours later, out comes a pellet. It’s nature’s way of keeping things tidy, and our way of discovering what’s on the menu in the wild.

What will you do?

  • Dig into real owl pellets (eww… but also WOW!)
  • Find and identify tiny bones from mice, shrews, and maybe even a vole or two!
  • Learn all about owls and their beastly eating habits
  • Piece together your own mini skeleton like a bone-chilling puzzle!
