Home to one of England’s finest 18th-century country houses, a nationally significant collection of art and over 140 acres of Grade I listed landscape, Harewood welcomes around 270,000 visitors each year.  As an independent charity, we are driven by a bold vision and we are looking for strategic thinking Trustee’s to join us on our journey to re-imagine what a historic country house is in the 21st century – connecting people with art, nature and history in meaningful and inclusive ways.

The Opportunity

As a Trustee, you will:

  • Provide strategic direction, governance, and financial oversight
  • Support and challenge the executive team to deliver organisational goals
  • Act as an ambassador and advocate for Harewood
  • Contribute your professional expertise to Board discussions and decisions
  • Help navigate a complex and evolving external environment

You don’t need prior Trustee experience—we’re looking for strategic thinkers, collaborative leaders, and people who want to make a difference.

Time Commitment

  • 3 Board meetings per year (2 online, 1 in person)
  • Annual strategy day
  • Committee participation
  • Approx. 12 days per year
