Trailer Driver

Harewood House Trust is looking for enthusiastic individuals to lead our new passenger wagon safari tours around Harewood House Trust and the Harewood Estate, which are due to launch in Spring 2026.  We want to inspire our audiences by taking them on trailer tours of our beautiful parkland and to appreciate the wider Harewood Estate.  This will reveal the many layers of Harewood’s historical landscape and explore our rich flora and fauna.

Visitors will get to experience up close, our native wildlife and farm animals, whilst learning about our approach to conservation and sustainability.  The role of Trailer Driver involves towing the purpose-built passenger wagon across the Harewood Estate, hitching and un-hitching the wagon, performing pre and post tour safety checks and ensuring the tours run in a timely manner.

We have a range of hours available from 6 to 30 hours per week, dependent on booked tours, which we expect to be very popular.

The most important qualities that you must demonstrate are confidence and experience in towing a wagon and as passion for providing the best possible levels of customer care to our visitors.

Key Result Areas

· Safely tow and manoeuvre visitors across our park and wider estate by driving the vehicle and towing the passenger wagon.

· Ensure the visitor experience is delivered to the very highest standards and adhere to timings.

· Follow daily opening and closing procedures as appropriate

· Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections

· Observe and reports any incidents immediately, which may affect the tour, other team members or visitors

· Uphold the standards of customer service set out in the Harewood House Trust staff handbook, training and induction material.

· Adhere to all Harewood House Trust policies and procedures

Requirements

· Category B+E driving licence – Desirable

· Clean driving licence – Essential

· Experience towing trailers or passenger wagons – Desirable

· Strong safety awareness – Essential
