Group Visits FAQs

Can groups visit Harewood whilst Covid-19 is still ongoing ?

Yes, we are now accepting group bookings to Harewood. Pre-booking is essential. Harewood has taken a number of steps in order to make your group visit as safe as possible and we invite groups to consult our Group Visits Covid-19 policy prior to their visit.

The “We’re Good To Go” industry standard mark is a self-assessment scheme that has been designed by VisitEngland in partnership with the national tourist organisations Tourism Northern Ireland, VisitScotland and Visit Wales to provide a ‘ring of confidence’ for all sectors of the tourism industry, as well as reassurance to visitors that businesses have clear processes in place and are following industry and Government COVID-19 guidance on cleanliness and social distancing.

What’s open?

Harewood House, Grounds and Gardens are open, inclusive of our Bird Garden, Farm, Courtyard Café, Terrace Tearooms and Shop.

All the toilets in the Grounds and Gardens will be open with a queuing capacity in place. There are also additional hand washing facilities around key areas of the site, and hand sanitisation stations at regular intervals around the site. We would still advise visitors to bring some alco-gel with them.

Will our group receive a welcome on arrival?

Due to current social distancing measures in place, a member of the team will be unable to board the coach to provide a welcome, however where possible a member of the team will be available to greet you in the coach car park and answer any questions that members of your group may have as they disembark. We will not be providing any leaflets or maps at this time.

Can I book a guided tour around the House, Gardens or Bird Garden?

Yes, we are pleased to be offering our guided tours once again at an additional cost. Groups will be split into small groups of a maximum of 10 people per guide and we ask that visitors socially distance and wear a face mask whilst on their guided tours in the House.

Guided Tours around the House are available 10 am-11 am and 3.30 pm-4.30 pm, outside of the general opening hours, giving groups exclusive access.

For more information regarding guided tours, please visit our Tours page.

Is there a difference in the group price ?

With the House and Gardens now open, ticket prices have returned to normal to reflect this. Harewood is a Charity and as such charges admission, which is then funnelled back in to maintaining the Collections and furthering the Trust’s work.

As we appreciate that groups will be travelling in smaller numbers, we have reduced our requirement of 15 people to qualify for the group rate to 10. The group rate is therefore available for groups of 10 people or more and pre-booking is essential. Tickets are £12 per adult on a weekday, £13 on a weekend, with the group organiser and coach driver admitted free of charge. The coach driver also receives a voucher to use in our Courtyard Café.

How can I pay for my group visit?

We encourage payment in advance of your visit as this will enable us to process our group immediately on arrival. Our site is now entirely cashless, therefore we ask that any groups paying on the day pay by card only. Invoicing available by prior arrangement.

Are the Shuttle Bus and Chain Ferry in operation?

The shuttle and chain ferry are not in operation at this time. For further information regarding on site accessibility, please visit our Access page.
