Primary teachers are cordially invited to an exclusive evening at Harewood, where you’ll have the chance to experience firsthand a selection of our engaging school sessions from our formal learning programme.

Upon arrival, you will receive a personalized ‘menu’ detailing the available activities and their corresponding times. Our team will be on hand throughout the afternoon to answer any questions and provide insights into our educational offerings.

The afternoon activities will be flexible, allowing teachers to drop in at their convenience between the specified times below and will include a welcome drink and take-home goody bag.

Event Timings:

4.15pm – Welcome from Rachel Crewes, Chief Executive Officer of Harewood

4.30pm5.00pm – Harewood at War

Join the team in the gallery to find out more about the vital role that Harewood House played during the World Wars.

4.30pm–5.00pm – Harewood and the Transatlantic Slave Trade

Join the team in the gallery and explore Harewood and Britain’s wider involvement in the Transatlantic Slave Trade

5pm–5.30pm  – Meet the Saxons: Tor, Sprot and Grim

Take a walk outside and join the team up at our treehouse Sylvascope to learn about our brand- new school session!

5.00−5.30 – Homes Through Time

Explore the remains of the Lascelles’ former home, Gawthorpe Hall, and find out how your pupils can further their thinking about how we lived in the past.

This event is free of charge but pre-booking is essential, please make sure to arrive promptly if you wish to attend the speech.

On arrival please park within our car park and make your way up to the front of the House where a Member of the team will meet you.
