Tuesday 30 July – Thursday 1 August 2024

Seeking something different and educational for the little ones this summer? Your search ends here with our Holiday Club. Drop them off for three full days of adventure at Harewood, exploring History, Art and Nature. Alternatively, choose their favourite topic out of the three and reserve a single session.

Each day will begin at 9am and all children will need to be picked up by 4pm.

Day 1 – Tue 30 Jul- Art Explorers

Step back into the Bronze Age at Harewood and immerse yourself in the ancient craft of clay pinch pot making, beaded bracelet making, mosaic and tile decorating.

Day 2 – Wed 31 Jul – History Explorers

Experience life as an Anglo-Saxon, including making Saxon broches and shields, planning a settlement and exploring the outdoors as a Saxon warrior inspired by Tor, Sprot and Grim, the three real Saxon chieftains who lived at Harewood

Day 3 – Thu 1 Aug – Forest Explorers

Join John our forest school trained leader as you immerse yourself in the outdoors, exploring our sylvascope woodland area and developing your outdoor skill set.

How long have you worked at Harewood? Nearly 4 years – I started as a volunteer in 2020!

Background: I was a primary school teacher for three years and my passion for history led me to volunteer at Harewood at the weekends. Eventually, I decided to study for a master’s in history at the University of York and work as part of the learning and engagement team at Harewood.  I love my job because every day is different and I still get to teach children my favourite subject – History!
