Colleges & Universities

We offer an extensive range of tours at Harewood for Further and Higher Education groups which extend to all areas of the site, including the House, Gardens & Grounds. All our sessions are led by our expert and friendly staff. We can also work with teachers to develop bespoke collaborative projects.

Harewood provides a rich context for high level study across both the sciences and humanities. We are an accredited museum with a ‘lived’ social history, world-class architecture, art and furniture collection.

Our learning programme focusses on History and Art & Design and we currently offer tours on the following subject areas:

Arts and Design

At Harewood, pupils can explore masterpieces by Joshua Reynolds, JMW Turner and Titian, as well as the work of some of the finest designers and craftspeople of the day.

History
Harewood House is an accredited museum but also a home which reveals a social, lived history through primary sources and artefacts. Harewood can be used as a context for exploring ideas and opinions, from the legacy of the British Empire and the Trade in enslaved African people, to the experience of being ‘in service’. Learn about key eras from Harewood’s history, using artwork and objects on the State Floor and the story from ‘below stairs.’

We also offer self-guided visits, for more information head to our Self-Guided Visits page
