Members’ Summer Garden Party

Fri 24 Jun

Lord and Lady Harewood, Lady Emily Shard – chair of Harewood House Trust, and Trust Director Jane Marriott invite you to join us at our Members’ Summer Garden Party. To thank you for your support over the difficult last two years, come to a twilight gathering on Bothy Green, with the stunning view of the Lake, and the Walled Garden to explore at this beautiful time of day. Drinks will be served as we celebrate Harewood, with the chance to mingle with your fellow Members, and take time to reflect on this remarkable place.

Tickets are £5 and are limited for this special event.

Bird Watching Bag

Available every day

Calling all nature lovers! Harewood is famous for its Bird Garden and also its wild bird life, such as the red kites that soar over the park. Pick up a Member-exclusive Bird Watching Bag from the Visitor Information Centre in the Courtyard, to spend an hour or two as a Bird Explorer!

Bags contain an activity sheet, clipboard, pen and binoculars. Bags are one per Membership; must be returned at the end of your visit; and will be given out first-come, first-served each day. We recommend them for ages 4+ but all are welcome!

Radical Acts Family Guide

Available every day

Get the family talking about the big issues tackled in our exhibition, Radical Acts: Why Craft Matters with our new Family Guide, created exclusively for Members. We suggest some talking points to get children (and adults!) engaged in ideas about sustainability, reuse, representation, and more. View the guide on your phone (the link is in your Summer Treats email), or ask for a printed copy in the Entrance Hall.

Ask Us Anything: Harewood’s Gallery

The Gallery of Harewood House is a memorably grand room full of masterpieces that has played host to memorable occasions over 250 years. Members and visitors always ask lots of questions about this spectacular space, so now is your chance to ask our expert team. Simply email membership@harewood.org and we’ll forward your question to our Curator. Artwork, architecture, furniture, social history – the floor is yours!

Framing the Renaissance – exclusive blog

‘I think the frames very important to make the best of the pictures. The Greco’s frame is wrong and will have to be put right but I have not made up my mind about it.’–Henry Lascelles, 6th Earl of Harewood

As well as their Renaissance content, the picture frames in the Gallery have a tale to tell. Learn more in blog by Gemma Plumpton, a PhD researcher currently based at Harewood, written exclusively for Members – the link is in your Summer Treats email.
