Your pupils will be offered an unforgettable learning experience by immersing themselves in the history of Harewood House. A tour of the 18th century home will explore what life was like for different people in Harewood’s past in our ‘Upstairs, Downstairs’ session. This includes a behind-the-scenes tour of the House, hands-on learning with real objects and a drama-based workshop.
Get ready to work as an archaeologist and investigate the site of Gawthorpe Hall, the medieval manor pre-dated Harewood. This session will give your pupils the rare chance to explore a real archaeological dig site, to use real tools and make their own finds.
This session can be adapted to meet KS1 and KS2 History objectives in the National Curriculum, and if you have any special requests or areas of study, please just get in touch for a personalised school visit.
Timings + Prices
Timings for all sessions are flexible and can be tailored to suit year group needs.
The session runs as a carousel of parallel activities by dividing your group in half and switching through activities at approximately 11.00am. Each session is led by an experienced Learning Facilitator offering structured guidance and hands-on facilitation whilst encouraging them to explore for themselves.
Costs: £10 per pupil for a half-day experience.
