House Closures

Due to high winds this weekend, access to Harewood House, Terrace Café, and Courtyard will be limited to pre-booked ticket holders only on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd December. The Gardens and Grounds will remain closed. Tickets will not be available at the gate, and Members without pre-booked tickets will not be admitted.

As we move through the seasons, the House may be closed at various points throughout to allow us to change exhibitions, and ensure the care of our Museum Accredited collections.

As an independent educational charity, we’re dedicated to the conservation and care of the Grade 1 listed House, along with the beautiful associated buildings, gardens, and grounds. We’re also an accredited museum, responsible for an internationally significant collection of art, furniture, and interior design. This vital work requires substantial funding so that we can preserve this historical and cultural treasure for future generations to enjoy and learn from.

Please see below the House closure dates for 2025.

Winter Season

Throughout January – March, Harewood House and Grounds are closed to the public during the week. But for 2025, we’re inviting you to take a look behind the scenes to experience the magic that unfolds while the gates are closed.

Take a look at what’s on this winter.

Harewood will be closed for two weeks from Monday 6 January 2025.

From Friday 17 January – Sunday 16 March 2025 we will be open to the public Friday-Sunday only.

Please note these dates are subject to change.

Due to window conservation work, some rooms may look different and may occasionally be closed during your visit. This is part of a significant and vital project to maintain the historic structures of our Grade-I listed House, generously supported by the Museum, Estate and Development Fund (MEND), part of Art Council England’s Cultural Investment Fund.
