Nurture – Evening Lakeside Walk and Gong Bath

Join Harewood House Trust and Harewood Holistics for our evening event based around our theme of Nurture for Mental Health Awareness Week. This exclusive evening event combines the beauty of nature with a silent walk around the lakeside of Harewood House and a visit to the Himalayan Gardens. This is followed by delicious refreshments and indoor Gong Bath sound experience brought to you by Soul Shine Life. We invite you to enjoy time to connect with nature and nurture your inner peace in the grounds of this historic Estate.

Nurture – Morning Yoga on the Terrace with Breakfast

Join Harewood House Trust and Harewood Holistics for our morning retreat – Nurture. Nurture your mind, body and soul with this beautiful one off event of outdoor yoga on Harewood House’s Terrace where you can enjoy uninterrupted views of soft rolling hills, forests and the Serpentine lake.

Follow your relaxing yoga with a delicious healthy breakfast in Harewood House’s Billiard Room provided by Harewood Food and Drink Project. This special event will nurture your inner peace and allow you to connect with the beauty of nature and a community of like minded people.

Nurture – A Morning Yoga Retreat

This morning retreat will help you reconnect with your inner self and restore balance whilst nurturing your connection with others and the nature around you.

Join us for a gentle walk to the lakeside where we will guide you through gentle Hatha yoga led by Amanda Winburn. Afterwards we will walk through the Himalayan Gardens, pausing at the Stupa for a moment of peace and reflection before heading back to the Arch Barn Studio for delicious refreshments. The morning is finished off with a session of restorative yoga Nidra, where you will have the opportunity to slow down, reflect and find connection with other likeminded people.

Harewood’s Rhododendrons – Talk + Tour

We will explore Harewood’s Himalayan Garden to discover a range of species rhododendrons from the Himalayas and East Asia. Hear the story of the 6th Earl and HRH Princess Mary, about their shared fondness for rhododendrons, as well as their connection with the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh, who supplied rhododendrons and seeds of many other plants to the Princess Royal for her garden at Harewood throughout the 1930s.

Willow Weaving: Framed Basket with Leilah Vyner

Tues 24 May | £90

Join us this Summer for a Willow Weaving workshop, where you will have the chance to make your very own willow basket. Willow weaver Leilah Vyner will teach you the art of creating sculpture from willow rods and the random weave we use to make large and small sculptures. Leilah Vyner is a full-time willow weaver based just outside Tadcaster. She makes willow baskets, sculptures, fences + much more and has sculptures exhibited all around the world, including the Woodland Wonderland at Harewood.

Family Tractor Wildlife Tour 

Mon 30 + Tues 31 May | £10 

Hop on our safari bus for a trip around the Estate, to see and learn about the wealth of wildlife on the Estate and hear about the work we’re undertaking to help conserve UK species and become more sustainable. The tour will be one hour long.

Tours will pick up and drop off in front of the House.

Entry tickets to Harewood or a valid Membership will be required in addition to this ticket.

Seasonal Inspired Lino Printing with Folded Forest

Thurs 9 June | £90

Join us for this seasonal printmaking workshop and learn to make your own edition of nature inspired lino prints. Ruth & Sarah from Folded Forest will guide you through the process of creating and developing your image, carving your design into the block using specialist cutting tools, inking up your plate and printing using traditional hand printing techniques.

Tranquillity – An Evening Yoga and Well-being Retreat

Join Harewood House and Harewood Holistics for a tranquil evening of meditation and restorative yoga at the heart of the Harewood Estate. This special event is inspired by the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan. Harewood’s Himalayan Garden is a haven of beauty and tranquillity at the heart of the Harewood Estate. The garden is home to the Harewood Stupa, a Buddhist monument built in 2004 by monks from the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan. Bhutan is known as the Kingdom of Happiness and is well-known for its philosophy of Gross National Happiness, split into 9 domains including psychological well-being and health to measure the collective happiness and well-being of the population.

Charcoal Sketching with Pippa Pixley 

Sat 25 June | £75

In this charcoal sketching workshop, explore the techniques and materials needed to create line, value, detail, and texture using light and dark marks. Pippa will teach you how to draw trees, bushes, flora and fauna, and the landscape in a light and loose, free and gestural way. You also will discover the superpower of masking to add a professional finish to your work.

Learn how charcoal is made and how it has been put to use as an art material from ancient times. Try out different grades: from fine vines cut on the waning moon to lumpwoods foraged from the orchards and forestry surrounding Harewood House.

Willow Weaving : Hearts

Try your hand at willow weaving in this latest workshop, where you will have the chance to make your very own willow Heart for your home or  garden.

Willow weaver Leilah Vyner will teach you the art of creating sculpture from willow rods and the random weave we use to make large and small sculptures.

Flower Painting with Natural Pigments

Join artist, Pippa Pixley for an exciting introduction to expressive floral painting using botanical inks, watercolour and gouache.

Learn tips and techniques for creating texture, movement, and fluidity. Create gestural pieces that reflect the natural beauty of the blooms, choosing your own flowers and foliage, creating a pleasing arrangement, and capturing it forever as bold strokes and splashes of colour.

Botanical Bas- Relief workshop

Sat 16 July | £90

Capture the beauty of botanicals in this full day workshop, in which you will work with a range of seasonal flowers and foliage, exploring composition and artful arrangements, and then pressing each element into soft clay to create your own moulds ready for the casting process. You will leave with two finished pieces that make wonderful gifts or mementos.

Creative Calligraphy for Beginners Workshop

Beautiful writing is both a pleasure to see and to produce! There is a love in putting pen to paper. Join Caron Naylor F.R.S.A, for a morning of Mindful Calligraphy for Beginners. In this class, we will cover all the basic strokes and techniques. You will understand how all the letters are formed, how to master the pen and find your own individual style too!

Twilight Terrace Garden tour with a glass of Prosecco

Enjoy an exclusive evening tour of the Terrace Garden with our Senior Gardener at Harewood. You will learn about the history of the Terrace, from its creation in the 19th century, including influences which brought about the advent of the Italianate parterre, to the changes in gardening styles and planting designs throughout the high Victorian era.
