During the winter months Harewood is visited by hundreds of birds. The serenity of the lake during the summer months is transformed into a hive of activity and noise as huge flocks of Canada and greylag geese descend into the water each afternoon, making a rowdy spectacle worth watching.

Our winter bird watching tour gives you the opportunity to witness this event, as well as looking out for other winter visitors either passing through as they journey further south from places such as Iceland and Scandinavia, or spend the winter with us before flying north again in spring.

You may be fortunate enough to spot rare visitors like the Snow White Little or Great Egrets, or flocks of Whooper Swans during the tour, so bring binoculars!

Useful information

On arrival at 2.30pm please park in the main car park and make your way to the Courtyard, where you will be met by a member of our helpful team.

Please be aware this event takes place outdoors. As the saying goes, ‘there is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes’ – please come dressed appropriately.

Your ticket gives you access to Harewood for the full day on the date of your ticket.
