Join us this Spring for an exclusive behind-the-ropes tour of Harewood House.
Harewood House has been home to the Lascelles family for over 250 years. It was created by some of the greatest craftsmen of the 18th century and is today home to a world-class collection of fine and decorative art.
Delve into Harewood’s rich and varied history on an exclusive tour of the State Floor with our expert curatorial team. This tour offers a comprehensive introduction to the history of the house and its collection, brought to life through little-known insights and the opportunity to experience some of Harewood’s interiors from behind the ropes.
Starting in the Main Library with views across the Capability Brown landscape, you will learn about Harewood’s 18th century roots, founded on the Caribbean sugar and slave trade, as well as the key players involved in the building’s creation. Moving through the house, you will hear the story of each room and those who inhabited it, as well as highlights of key works of art along the way.
Finish your tour with an Afternoon Tea in the Billiard Room.
