This weekend, we are delighted to welcome artist and author Matt Sewell to our Bird Garden Birthday Party. Join Matt for an extra special drawing workshop, and learn how to draw your favourite garden birds and more with the man himself. During this workshop, Matt will take you through the process of drawing different birds, with your very own sketchbook to take away with you at the end of the session.

This workshops is open to all ages, no advanced drawing skills needed – if you can draw an egg you can draw a bird!

What's included?

As part of this one hour workshop, Matt will take you through a step by step process in how to draw different garden birds. All your materials will be provided as part of the day.

Please note that if you are not a Harewood Member, you will need to purchase a day ticket here.

Useful Information

These workshops takes place in the Stable in the Courtyard. On arrival at Harewood, please park in the main car park and make your way down the hill to the entrance of the Courtyard and follow signs to the Stable.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times during this workshop.

About Matt Sewell

Artist, illustrator and author Matt Sewell is an avid ornithologist, regular contributor to the Caught By River website and author of the bestselling books Our Garden Birds, Owls, A Charm Of Goldfinch and the recently released Atlas Of Amazing Birds. Plus his range of children books including Dinosaurs and Forgotten Beasts. Many of his books have been translated and published around the world and Matt’s birds have found themselves featured in a high successful licensed range including calendars, mugs, greetings cards and many other gift items.

He has illustrated for The Guardian, The National Trust, Barbour, The V&A, Levis and painted walls for Greenpeace, BBC’s Springwatch and Countryfile, Helly Hansen, Puma and the RSPB, his artwork has been exhibited in London, New York, Tokyo and Paris.
