Thursday 20 – Friday 21 May 2021
10.15am – 11.45am
Join Harewood’s Curator for a special tour of all things ‘royal’ at Harewood. From porcelain created for an ill-fated French king to a birthday book belonging to an English queen, this tour will offer an opportunity to get up-close to some of Harewood’s best-loved, as well as lesser known, royal treasures. Learn about some of Harewood’s historic state visits, as well as those made by more recent generations of the royal family, and discover Harewood’s connections to Queen Victoria through a number of rarely seen objects and archives. The tour will also incorporate the story of Harewood as a Royal Household, being the home of HRH Princess Mary, daughter of King George V and Queen Mary, from 1930 until her death in 1965, with a special focus on some of the Princess’ personal belongings.
Followed by a quintessential Afternoon Tea on the Terrace or in the Billiard Room*
