Take a step back in time with Chapterhouse Theatre Company to meet Elizabeth Bennet, Jane Austen’s notorious heroine. When Elizabeth meets the terse and abrupt Mr. Darcy, she loathes him at first sight. But is there more to him than meets the eye? Brought to life by award-winning writer Laura Turner, this adaptation has been a favourite of Chapterhouse audiences for years and will be a joy to perform in the company’s 20th year of touring. Join friends and family for an evening of theatre beneath the stars, basking in the glow of this timeless classic.

Bring along your picnics, blankets and folding chairs, and enjoy this wonderful open-air production!

Doors open to theatre ticket holders from 4pm, with the performance commencing from 5pm. For theatre-goers wishing to visit Harewood prior to 4pm on the day of the performance to enjoy our Gardens and grounds, we are offering a reduced rate entry of £5 per person, under 4s are free. Reduced rate tickets are available to purchase upon arrival at Harewood House on the day of the performance only with a valid theatre ticket.

Will the event still go ahead in rain?

Yes, the performance will go ahead whatever the weather! This is an outdoor event, so please come prepared with suitable warm and waterproof clothing if required.

Where will the performance take place?

The performance will take place on the North Lawn, the grassed area opposite the House.

Will there be an interval?

Yes, there will be a short interval part way through the performance, giving visitors time to stretch their legs and use the facilities!
