Join artist Helen Riddle and make a beautiful Christmas robin. You will master basic needle-felting techniques such as shaping, joining in 2 and 3 dimensions, producing flat pieces and incorporating wire, to produce a life-sized standing robin to use as a decoration, hang on the tree or to give as a present. This is a one-day course, suitable for beginners. All equipment and materials are provided.
Please make your way to the Courtyard on arrival at Harewood, where a member of staff will be there to greet you.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided on the day. Please notify us upon booking of any dietary requirements you may have.

About Helen Riddle
Helen Riddle is an artist and feltmaker working from her studio at The Art House, Wakefield. Combining wet- and needle-felting techniques with free motion embroidery and hand stitch, Helen produces a range of items, both functional and decorative, from pots, brooches and greetings cards to larger artworks and three-toed sloths! Helen is a qualified teacher and was awarded the 2014 City and Guilds Medal for Excellence for Constructed Textiles in 2014. She exhibits and sells her work widely; within Yorkshire, further afield and online. Helen’s exhibition of textile sculpture, “The Doffer and the Fancy, Re-Imagining the machine” is showing at Leeds Industrial Museum until the end of 2019.
