9am – 1pm

Join us this summer for an energising yet relaxing retreat brought to you by Yoga Kula and Harewood Holistics.

Harewood has become a place of escape for many over the past year. If you are a regular visitor to Harewood you will already be aware of the peaceful walks, beautiful woodland, wildlife and calming bodies of water.

Over the past 18 months as a collective we have all understood the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing and the role nature plays in cultivating a positive state of mind. A connection to nature, ourselves and others is the way we can continue to heal and stay centred as the world slowly opens up again.

Many of us have found Yoga, Meditation and other forms of mindfulness have helped us through this challenging year. Within Yoga there is an understanding that nature lives within us and when we connect with an element with intent, we can use the qualities of that element to help us navigate our life.

When we can be like water we are able to let go of resistance, go with the flow and find more softness and release.

Itinerary for the day

What's included?

Lakeside Yoga
Enjoy practicing Yoga alongside the picturesque Harewood Lake with Yoga Kula Teachers who will offer a mixture of Hatha Yoga, Gentle Flow, gentle adjustment in postures and individual mini reiki treatments.

Guided walk to the Harewood Stupa and through the Himalayan Gardens
This mindful walk will take you through the Himalayan Garden where you can see blue poppies, orchids, cobra lilies, primulas and over 50 types of rhododendrons. The gardens are a beautiful place to pause and breathe with the sound of the waterfall helping to relax and calm minds.

The Himalayan Stupa was built by monks from Bhutan in 2004 and is the only one of its kind in the UK. Here you will have the opportunity to leave an offering of something you have found along the walk such as a fallen leaf or a flower. This Buddhist tradition helps us to reflect on life’s impermanence and helps to calm the mind.

Cacao Tea Ceremony with RASA TEA
Enjoy tea in a ceremonial way in the state of the art Arch Barn Yoga Studio. Tea is an important ritual in both the East and the West and once which fosters connection, conversation and a sense of comfort and peace. In the East tea is used by meditators to keep them alert for meditation and is offered in traditional ritual ceremony. Enjoy and informal and relaxed tea ceremony offered by the people at RASA TEA. A healthy snack from Harewood Food and Drink project will be provided to guests to enjoy before the final part of the morning.

Water Element Yoga Nidra + Reiki Healing
Yoga Nidra or ‘Yogic Sleep’ is a deeply healing form of yoga. To enjoy this form of yoga you will be assisted to create a restful yoga prop set up and guided through a Water Element themed practice. If you wish to start meditating but you find it challenging Yoga Nidra as well as being an amazing stand alone practice is always a fantastic gateway into meditation.  The session will close with hands on healing our Reiki expert to seal all of the goodness of the day and remove any final strands of negative energy.
