Saturday 25 November 2023
10.30am – 1.30pm
During this workshop, Charlotte from Calico Collective will guide you through the process of creating your very own bespoke jesmonite terrazzo coasters. You will be using Jesmonite AC100 which is an environmentally conscious alternative to traditional resin based products, and provides a lightweight alternative to concrete. Jesmonite it a water & acrylic based, solvent free product – making it safe for many uses.
You’ll be shown how to mix the material and cast into silicone moulds – but each coaster set will be individual to you as you can experiment with lots of colours and designs. Whilst the coasters are left to dry in the moulds, there will be a small break with a chance to grab any refreshments and ask questions to learn a little more about the material. Charlotte will take you through the whole process in this workshop – from choosing colours and casting the products, through to sanding and sealing them ready to take home with you on the day!
All materials provided.
Calico Collective is centred around creating consciously crafted, small batch homeware and jewellery. Much of their inspiration comes from natural colours and textures, resulting in an artisan product range filled with earthy tones and organic shapes – the perfect way to bring a sense of serenity to your home.
Calico Collective was born out of a love of luxury artisan homeware, as well as a desire to work with environmentally conscious materials and processes. Each small batch of homeware products is mixed and poured by hand, meaning every single product we make is completely unique. Home decor, statement jewellery, stationery and more. Everything is handmade by founder and designer Charlotte, in our Manchester based studio space. Not only are our products a wonderful addition to any home – or outfit – but they are functional and built to last.
A 14 day cancellation policy applies to all workshops. As commercial workshops support our charitable activities, and materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than two weeks before the workshop date should you wish to cancel your place.
Should Harewood House Trust need to cancel a workshop, your ticket will be refunded in full.
