Please note that if you are not a Harewood Member, you will need to purchase a day ticket here.
Work with artist Ranya Abdulateef to explore drawing with a focus on Islamic geometric patterns. You’ll learn and produce your own patterns using Ranya’s techniques and examples.
Suitable for ages 7+
Ranya is a textile artist based in Wakefield. Founder of MelograniArt embroidery and a member of the Merrie collective. She has a varied practice including printing, embroidery, illustration, painting as well as photography which are all inspired by nature. Her practice takes her away from any negativity and pressure she feels – she finds it rewarding to see it transform into the development of her skills and continuous learning of art and design.
Following the success of our last summer craft festival, Make It Harewood is returning for 2022!
With a weekend packed full of workshops and demonstrations, visitors will have the opportunity to get hands on and learn from some of the leading talents in their respective crafts fields. As well as a range of intimate workshops for smaller groups, we will have drop-in sessions and beginners activities for all the family, so there will be plenty to keep you busy all weekend long.
