Saturday 26 October 2019
11am – 5pm
Aimed at artists, teachers and art coordinators, this artist-led workshop will explore Harewood as inspiration for your own art practice and teaching.
In celebration of thirty years of our contemporary art programme here at Harewood, participants will be encouraged to view Harewood through a critical and creative lens, developing a contemporary response to Harewood through art and making.
Artist Jo Blaker will give prompts and activity ideas, using drawing and other media to explore ideas and themes connected with Harewood. Throughout the day, we’ll be making work outdoors and around the site as well as studio-based activities.
Providing participants with space to be creative, to reflect on what interests you as an artist and to share skills and techniques, this day is a perfect way to recharge your creative batteries after the first half-term back at school. We’ll also look at how you can take ideas back into the classroom through project work or schemes of work inspired by Harewood.
All materials are provided but you are welcome to bring a sketchbook.
Lunch is not provided so please bring your own lunch or buy lunch on site.
Suitable for teachers working across all Key Stages.
Ticket Price includes admission
