Harewood’s Garden Party Weekend

Saturday 8 – Sunday 9 July 2023

Bring your checked blankets and wicker baskets – we’re having a Garden Party weekend!

Eat, drink and come together as part of the Harewood community, enjoying special activities, pop-up street food and live entertainment as we appreciate the way that food crosses divides.

Bring your picnic blankets along but leave your sandwiches behind, because we’ve got Luigi’s Italian Street Food and Annabel’s Deliciously British Strawberry Stand providing delicious treats throughout the day.

Foodie favourites The Harewood Food and Drink Project will be making tacos in the Courtyard between 12-3pm, and the Harewood Horse Box is fill to the brim with hot dogs, G&Ts, soft drinks and prosecco for the whole weekend. Special guest and Great British Bake Off superstar Sandy Docherty will be running baking demonstrations on Sunday too.

Our Terrace Tearoom will just be serving hot drinks and cakes on Sunday 9 July – the perfect stop after a savoury lunch with Luigi’s Italian Streetfood and tacos from The Harewood Food and Drink Project down in the Courtyard.

We’ve invited Collingham Brass Brand to provide the tunes on Saturday from 2pm, and Back Chat Brass will be taking on the musical mantle on Sunday from 12-12.45pm and 2-2.45pm.

Make your way over to the House for 12pm for our daily Discovery Talk, then pop down to the South Park to keep little ones entertained with free, drop-in craft activities at our Family Scrap Tent – including sowing your own seeds to take home.

The best part? Access to all of this is included in day tickets/memberships.

70×7 THE MEAL: Lucy & Jorge Orta

As part of Leeds 2023, world-renowned artists Lucy & Jorge Orta are hosting a special collaborative meal with community groups on Harewood’s Terrace.

With Leeds 2023, Lucy & Jorge Orta create a participative artwork on the Terrace where table-setting becomes a discursive platform for diverse communities, across cultures and continents. This event is for invited community guests involved in the project, but all visitors can head Below Stairs to see Lucy & Jorge Orta’s accompanying exhibition in the Old Kitchen and Pastry Room.

Please note that the Terrace and Terrace Tearoom will be closed to visitors not attending the special collaborative meal on Saturday 8 July, but will be back open as normal from Sunday 9 July.

We are grateful for the support from Leeds2023 and the National Heritage Lottery Fund for this project.
