We want to keep you up-to-date on how we are adapting to the situation arising from Covid-19. You might have a number of questions in relation to how we have prepared for your visit, you can find some answers below, which is in line with current guidance.

Member booking links are being emailed to Members as they become available. If you have not received a booking link, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Day tickets for non-Members can be purchased online until 11.59pm the day before your intended visit. Click here to book now >>
Will I have to print out my tickets or can I show them on my phone?
Visitors should show their tickets on their phone, and at some places they may be asked to share their name and booking number. To maintain social distancing, we’re asking visitors to avoid passing anything to our staff.
I’m a Member – do I need to reserve a ticket for my under 4 year old?
Yes, please do. You will not be charged anything extra.
Are tickets full price if not everything is open?
For the duration of the November lockdown, reduced Grounds & Gardens ticket prices will apply. Harewood is a Charity and as such charges admission, which is then funnelled back in to maintaining the Collections and furthering the Trust’s work. Our ticket prices are here >>
How many people are you going to let in each day?
Harewood currently continues to operate on a reduced capacity, to ensure we can manage social distancing. Numbers are managed through the booking system and we will continue to review this the longer we are open.
How will your booking system work?
Non-members can book at tickets.harewood.org – booking closes at 11.59pm the day before the visit.
Do carers need to book a ticket?
Carers can continue to access our places for free with an essential companions’ card. Carers do not need to book a ticket for themselves, but the person they accompany will need a pre-booked ticket.
How will people have to show their booking?
Visitors will be asked to show booked tickets through their vehicle window before parking, along with Member cards for Members. Those arriving on foot or bike will be checked at the same place of entry to cars and asked to keep distance.
What happens if people turn up on the day?
Visits should be pre-booked. If people do turn up and we have capacity on that day, they will be given the opportunity to enter, but it is not guaranteed.
How long can I stay?
There is no time limit on how long you can stay.
What are your opening times?
Opening times are listed here >>
Your return to Harewood may initially feel different to what you have experienced before, with extra guidance in place for a ‘safe’ visit.
You will notice additional hand washing facilities across the site, as well as one way systems in place.
You may be asked to follow arrows, follow a one-way system, slow your pace or maintain distance from other visitors and staff. It’s vital that you follow these instructions – they’re for everyone’s safety.
We know how much you are looking forward to returning and ask that you are patient and play your part in making this a lovely experience for all.
Will you be asking visitors to wear facemasks or other PPE?
We are now advising that visitors wear face masks when using the Adventure Playground and visitors may wear face masks elsewhere should they wish.
Are dogs allowed ?
Harewood is a dog-friendly day out. It’s a great place to walk around and visitors can enjoy the lakeside and the wider park with their four legged friends. All we ask is that your dog is kept on a short lead.
We are unable to allow dogs in the House, Bird Garden, Farm Experience and in the Adventure Playground, but the rest of the 100 acre site is yours to enjoy!
All the toilets in the Grounds and Gardens will be open with a queuing capacity in place. There are also additional hand washing facilities around key areas of the site, and hand sanitisation stations at regular intervals around the site. We would still advise visitors to bring some alco-gel with them.
Will your cafés be open? Will there be food and drinks for sale?
The Terrace Tearooms and Courtyard Cafe will sadly be closed throughout the November lockdown in line with the government’s current legislation.
Take away food and drink will be available from the Bothy Teahouse and Horsebox.
Our takeaway containers are made from plants and are compostable and are the best option for everyone’s safety, at this current time.
Whilst the Courtyard Shop will be closed for browsing and on-site purchases, we will be offering a click and collect service for visitors. You can browse and order from our online shop and collect your purchase during your visit.
Everything you buy at Harewood supports the Charity. The money from your purchases goes back into maintaining and conserving Harewood’s House, Gardens and Bird Gardens for the public benefit.
Harewood is situated on a natural slope. For your own safety, please take care, especially on the steeper inclines. The wearing of flat, rubber-soled shoes is recommended. People accompanying those in wheelchairs will need to be strong and able pushers.
We have had to put in place certain measures in order to adhere to social distancing and other current government guidance:
