Product Design Development: Retail and Merchandising at Harewood House
Harewood House Trust is looking to develop a new range of products for their State Floor shop. They would like to commission a piece of artwork that can be used across a variety of products (ceramics, stationery, silk scarves etc.) to create a new range of gifts all with the same artistic design. The artwork should be inspired by and reflect Harewood House and the objects and patterns within it.
10.30 – 11.30am: Specialist tour of the State Floor, exploring themes of pattern and style
11.45am – 12.30pm: Introduction to the Project brief and Marketing and Brand Awareness session with Harewood’s Marketing Manager
12.30 – 12.45pm: Object Handling Session with Collections Team, analysing patterns and designs with original plans and architectural drawings for Harewood House.
12.30 – 2.30pm: Students revisit the House to begin developing early ideas for the project. Observational drawing to be carried out looking at patterns, styles and architectural designs within the House.
