The Farm Experience is home to six different species; guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, pigs, goats and alpacas, some native breeds and some from other countries. This is an opportunity for your pupils to have a memorable, hands-on experience, as they meet our animals, understand their needs, and learn how to take care of them.
Pupils will then be given the opportunity to apply their understanding of animals’ needs and build their team-work and STEM skills to create their own shelters in our Woodland Wonderland. Alternatively, other STEM focused sessions such as Minibeast Explorers or Wild Wood would compliment this session’s learning and create a wonderful, hands-on and engaging day out.
The session matches KS1 Science curriculum objectives and develops working Scientifically skills in ways which cannot be achieved in the classroom. All our workshops can also be personalised to suit your class’ particular study.
Timings + Prices
Timings for all sessions are flexible and can be tailored to suit year group needs.
The session runs as a carousel of parallel activities by dividing your group in half and switching through activities. Each session is led by an experienced Learning Facilitator offering structured guidance and hands-on facilitation whilst encouraging them to explore for themselves.
Costs: £7 per pupil for a half-day experience.
Allergen warning
Please make us aware of any allergens or dietary requirements when completing the booking form as the animals are fed using a variety of seeds, nuts and fruit.
Alternative activities can be offered if we are made aware in advance of the session.
