Teacher Events

We welcome teachers to take part in our professional development sessions and social evenings at Harewood.

Teachers’ Spring Twilight

Thursday 28 March, 4.30pm – 6pm

Time to catch your breath as spring term comes to a close and we begin to wind down for Easter. Enjoy a spritzer, have a guided tour of our wonderful exhibition Useful/Beautiful: Why Craft Matters, visit our Early Years’ Curiosity Cabin and find out what there is on offer for nurseries and schools over summer term.

Free event. Booking essential.

Crafting Patterns: Teachers’ Making Day

Saturday 30 March 2019, 10.30am – 3.30pm

Suitable for teachers at all Key Stages

Inspired by our exhibition Useful/Beautiful: Why Craft Matters, work with artist Harriet Lawton to explore Harewood through the eyes of a designer. We will gather visual information through sketching in a range of media, leading to craft-making using printmaking and textile processes back in the studio. The day will explore ways of applying these skills and processes back in the classroom.

£30 per teacher. Materials included.

Harewood Teachers’ Critical Friends

The Learning team at Harewood is working with a group of teachers to advise us, help develop, evaluate and pilot new learning sessions and resources. If you are an Early Years, Primary or Secondary School teacher interested in working in partnership with Harewood to develop our schools offer, please get in touch.
