There is lots for you and your students to enjoy on a self-led visit. All educational tickets include full access to Harewood House, Grounds and Gardens, where you can explore all day long.
As a self-guided visit, there is something for all ages to enjoy. Explore at your leisure and make use of the many trails to guide your group across the site. Little ones can step back in time with our ‘Dress Up and Discover’ corner Below Stairs, meet our farm animals, explore our mini-beast trail, or meet birds from around the world in the Bird Garden. Make sure to leave time for our Adventure Playground or even sail across the lake to the Walled Garden on our chain ferry.
However long your visit, there are plenty of adventures to keep your class busy.

Prices includes admission to the whole site for the full day
Adults are free of charge based on a ratio of 1:4 for EYFS, 1:6 for KS1-2 and 1:10 for KS3-4.
Additional adults are charged at £6.50 per adult. Essential carers are free of charge.
KS5 and Higher Education Students are charged £6.50 per student for self-guided visits
Group leaders are free of charge based on a ratio 1:15. Additional adults are charged at £8.50.

How can I book?
Please ask about our boat trips at the time you book your school visit. All bookings will need to be made at least two weeks prior to arrival.
How much does it cost?
Prices for school boat trips are:
• 1-20 children: £125
• 21-30 children: £150
• 31-40 children: £175
Each boat trip lasts 30 minutes, with a 15 minute change over between each group.
For larger groups of 41-60 children, we can offer a schedule of shorter trips of 20 minutes each. Boat trips for this number of children are charged at £200
• School boat trips run during term time only
• In order to secure a booking, a £100 deposit must be paid one week in advance of your visit
• The Capability can take up to 10 children per trip
• Two adults must accompany each trip
• School boat trips are available for children aged 4-11 years
We have a full range of interactive trails available to download and bring with you on your trip to Harewood. Use these as part of your planning or print off and bring with you on the day.
Once you have booked your self-guided visit, we can provide you with two complimentary teacher tickets to visit Harewood to support your planning and risk assessment.
Our chain ferry can take small groups (up to 12 people) on the short journey across the Lake from the Bird Garden to the Walled Garden, all for free.
You can take the chain ferry to see our wonderful walled garden, before walking back on the lakeside walk. It’s a lovely way to see Harewood from a different perspective as well as to enjoy the bird life and views. Journey time is approximately 6 minutes across the lake.
